SouthWind Plantation was once a vision of founder, Tim Smith, who has transformed his vision into the “ultimate hunting experience”. This vision began with an initial land purchase of one hundred seventy acres in 1994. For the first six years of operation, SouthWind Plantation was enjoyed on a private basis. In 2000, SouthWind’s doors opened to the public offering the original Main Lodge for overnight accommodations.In 2005, our fifth season of public operation, SouthWind Plantation was honored to become one of only twenty-four Orvis Endorsed Wing-Shooting facilities in the United States.
